On July 3, 2022, Mvita Oils Limited spearheaded a significant tree planting initiative in honor of World Environment Day at the Bangladesh slums along Tudor Creek. Engaging the efforts of 300 individuals throughout the day, the event aimed to bolster environmental sustainability and greenery in the area. Adding to the occasion’s importance, the Area District Commissioner (DCC) graced the event as the chief guest, symbolizing official recognition and support for the environmental cause.
The initiative received widespread coverage, with major media outlets like KBC, Nation, and Citizen spreading awareness of the importance of environmental conservation. In a gesture of solidarity with the local community, Mvita Oils Limited also donated milk and fresh water as refreshments to the slums, ensuring the well-being of the participants. The day’s activities were further marked by a heartwarming cake cutting ceremony, fostering camaraderie and unity between the company and the boys from the slums, strengthening the bond between community members and their environment.
